Ask and You Shall Receive

But it might take me three weeks to get to it! I've been a busy little bee around the house (lots of new posts to come) so I haven't gotten to taking a full picture of the new bedroom lamps. Finally, here they are:

(It's a dreary day so the lighting is terrible!)

So if you were undecided before, what do you think? I think they are growing on me so they are here to stay. Until a cat knocks one of them over and breaks it. I've already come home to a lamp crashed on the floor. Speaking of which, they seem to be drawn to the camera. Out of 7 shots, they were in all but 6. lol

I think I need to do a less stark white color on the "art" above the bed. Those are actually ceiling tiles, believe it or not! I purchased 5 of them for about $40 (free shipping) and gave the other two to a friend. They are perfect for above the bed due to the lightweight material. If they fall off, no one's teeth are getting knocked out in the middle of the night. But let me tell you, they WILL scare the beejebus out of you if they fall on you while sleeping. So don't just stick them on top of the headboard for the night and think you'll hang them up tomorrow. Unless you want to give yourself a heart attack! lol

I think the lamps look great!

Are the ceiling tiles the EW ones? I've heard that those spray paint really easily...

Hi, I found your blog through YHL. I love your new bedroom. Congratulations on finishing it.

You know you could also modge podge something in the middle of the squares, just to add something to them. You can pick some scrapbook paper that coordinates with your plum accents. Or you can try some fancy wallpaper in the squares.

In any case, love what you did!

::looks around:: Am I in your bedroom or a chic boutique hotel? I LOVE this space. Just when I thought it couldn't get any better, you go and add glamorous lamps. They're hawt!

As for the ceiling tiles (genius) above the bed. I actually like the contrast of the white! Perhaps add some visual interest in the center of each one by adding those wood embellishments they sell at craft stores/home depot (paint them white too, of course). Or.....how do you feel about monograms? Painting a monogram onto each one would be lovely!

(CONGRATS on the YHL feature!! You went and got famous on us, you star. =] )

I just discovered your blog. Your master bedroom looks great. I am interested in finding out where you purchased the decorative pillows shown on the bed? Also, what did you use to attach the tiles to the wall above your bed?

Thanks
K. Gardner

Thanks, K. The decorative pillow with the tree was from Target a few years ago. The plain one is from Ikea and is still offered, I think.

I had the WORST time hanging the tiles. I tried *everything*. Eventually, I used a straight pin to poke holes in all four corners. Then used very thin finishing nails to hang them to the wall.
